Is C signaling the 3 (really wrong!), or just mirroring L's signal (wrong for 3-man, but maybe he has lots of 2-man experience).
Whether L should signal and T mirror, or T should signal depends on the mechanics set being used. |

Two of the three were still wrong unless they were using modified mechanics of some sort. Whether a 2 or 3 person crew, the attempt is only indicated by the primary official. Only the completion is mirrored by anyone.

In any case, not very impressive. Hopefully this is just a case of guys with little 3-person experience over-thinking everything. That's a best case scenario. |

Sad. That they apparently have no trainer or evaluator to correct them. That they have an assigner who either wants or needs to use them on a varsity game. That this passes for acceptable to those who do the ratings.

I think we are assuming an awful lot of stuff here. There are just officials that ball watch and it does not matter how long they have been trained or if they have evaluators correcting their actions. I would not be surprised other than this video that someone was not at this game or even knew this happened unless someone brought it to their attention. And plays like this are not plays a coach would send to the assignor as they probably have no idea what happened on the play that was wrong. It would not have been a call against them. Peace

Okay, I'm confused. Forgot what? If the game was under NF rules - which it appears to have been since the shot-clock never moved - that attempt was in the T's PCA. If the T happened to work NCAAW, he's still permitted to mirror the L's attempt under NCAAW mechanics.

What I do not get is why is it hard to forget mechanics from one level to another? They are not that damn different. Heck if I as a football official can know 200 plus different rules or variations, I think anyone can remember a couple of little mechanics differences from college to high school.
Peace
