Orange-sleeves in baseball

We have seen orange-sleeves in football for many years signaling commercial breaks, when the commercials are done, etc. I was watching the Dodger preseason game the other day and I saw a guy in the dugout with a headset and multiple colored cards and wondered if this was MLB's version of orange-sleeves. Sure enough, reading MLB's web site tonight, this person is known as the 'Field Timing Coordinator' and now indicates to the umpires when the commercials are done.

Usually in football, it is a guy wearing a red hat.

The NFL has green hat (NFL TV coordinator) and orange sleeves (network TV coordinator).

i was listening to Twins/White Sox game yesterday and the announcers mentioned such a thing. That guy is used to signal if it is OK to go to commercial break in case there is a replay to end an inning so they don't break away from coverage.

Ah...thanks. I'm yet to broadcast an NFL game. But I'm still working at it.
