MiLB, 3-2 count mechanic

I had the pleasure of going to a single A baseball game last week and noticed a mechanic I had not seen previously. When the count became 3-2, the HP would "give" the count to the BU. The BU would then mirror the signal. Is this the approved mechanic in MiLB?

Was it always or with two outs?

With two outs, sometimes the umpires change the mechanics as if all forced runners were advanced a base -- so PU is always staying home. If R1 is running then it can be hard for PU to get to third.

Is Single A 2-man or 3-man? As PU I try to always flash the count in "running" situations. It reminds the BU he may not have to ring up that runner from 1st heading for 2nd (if it's ball 4).

I picked up this mechanic a few years ago.

3-2, 2 outs, we're not rotating. BU mirrors.

2-man. They always signaled and mirrored 3-2 counts. It stuck out most when there was nobody on base early in the game and they signaled something. I started watching more closely and they always signaled no matter the out situation.

I do usually signal the change in rotation when we have runners rolling but don't quite understand the significance of every 3-2 count.

Maybe it has something to do with D3k / Checked swing scenarios, but that would be all x-2 counts, not just 3-2.

I think all Single A ball is two umpire but I won't profess to be an expert.

Guess I never really noticed if it is done in the Class A Florida State League. Will check it out next time I'm at a Fort Myers Miracle game.
