What is this and why have I not heard of it before? Ive been doing baseball 3yrs and never known this existed.

In LL Major BB and below if a runner is off the base before pitch reaches the batter the umpire is to drop the red flag to notify the teams

It's a challenge flag for coaches to throw when they want to review that missed tag at second.

Just a note: The flag is not required to be red.
