How have Aluminum Bats Changed Baseball? |

I know this is an official's forum, but speaking as a coach this is a good thing (i.e., to get the metal bats closer/equivalent to wood). Maybe we can get back to teaching kids how to swing properly.
Don't get me wrong, I love HRs (especially when my kids are the ones hitting them!). It's just that as a parent/coach I get tired of hearing the same bad advice given because it worked with juiced/composite bats. |

Perhaps we will see more strategy, hit and run, bunting, rather than Earl Weaver style managing? I love a well played defensive struggle, pitching and defense rules!!

+100 I'd much rather see a switch to wood but this is a great improvement to the "metal mania" of the past years.

Batting
We have gone over to wood or wood composite for high school games. Some games are quick some are still boondoggles. Eight games 4 home runs one was wind aided on a short field the others were legit bams. This is probably cut in half from last year. Some bad defense SS and 3B are not use to charging so some infield hits get run out because the ball is not coming as fast. But none of the cheap hits off the fists 2 broken bats so far.
