HBP in Yankee/Red Sox

Watching ESPN of game and batter is HPB, but umpires declare he swung.

OK, not a problem, but the explaination given was

"he was hit by the pitch which caused him to swing"

Say what - just goes to show that even the MLB's can say something sometimes they wish they had not said. If that was what was said ...

Just kind of interesting
