Time to Upgrade HSM - Thoughts?Suggestions

So the last three years I have been using this hsm:
Pro Nine Umpire Helmet Headgear CHPROUMP

While still in great shape, I have decided that I want either the Wilson FX 2.0 or the All-Star MVP4000. My question would be, titanium or steel. I can get the Wilson for $102 while the Titanium is $90 more, what do you guys think.

All Star

IMO,

All Star has the best HSM, get the best one you can afford. If you are able find some way to try all the HSM's you are interest in buying before you purchase one.

Your head is different than mine, so YMMV...

The 2500 vs 4000, is the 2500 really rated for less than 90mph?? While I dont see 90+ every day, still want to get the best protection possible.

Frankly you're on the right track.

Take a gander here: All-Star Sports Equipment

Also here: All-Star: System 7 Hollow Steel vs. Titanium - Umpire-Empire

and, System7 Allstar vs.UNDER ARMOUR SOLID PRO HEAD GEAR HELMET - Umpire-Empire

For me, I would get the 4000TI. the Sl seems like a good choice too, but I swear by my MVP2000, and I got the TI version in that model. I have no way to know if your data about the 2500 is right, but even if it isn't, I'd go with the best one I could purchase, and it ain't the 2500.

I'm back to a traditional mask now though I still use the HSM at times. there have to be others here with more insight than I do, esp, those who use the Shock.

That's my .02

Shock FX or AllStar 4000 - which ever you like better - Titanium frame whichever you choose

I like the look of the AllStar better than Wilson's but the 2.0 improved on the look. All esle equal, it comes down to the look and fit/feel.

Weight is the same (roughly), field of view is going to be close to the same,...the only possible difference would be the felt shock and I can't speak to that.

This is an item I would try on to see what fits you best. Barcelona Sporting goods should carry a good variety of them.
