The main problem with youth sports are the "adults" who accompany those youths.

I don't know if it's the MAIN problem, but it surely contributes and is high on my list.

Adults, our current society, current athletes as "role models," tv, $, emphasis on winning vs losing, etc, etc. all contribute to many of the problems we have in youth sports today.

True. And many of those adults think that this multi-million dollar career awaits their son, or at the very least, he'll get to sail into the college of his choice.

Why don't these people just buy a race horse or a show dog rather than exploit their child? It's the same thing, only they leave no human victim of their hubris and lunacy.

Nothing. This does not happen at all youth sports. The bad eggs get the press.

Not all coaches a like this. Tournament play--elimination game, 2 outs, tying run on third, winning on 2nd,bottom of last inning 2 strikes on batter. Check swing and I go to my partner and he bangs strike 3. We have to exit losing dugout for signature and 3 coaches thank us as they are praising their players for " Great game, good hustle, we are proud of you."

And nowhere in this universe will anybody here this story---except here.
