Penalty for throwing the bat after a hit

I found an old thread on this, but wondered if there have been recent changes in the LL rules regarding a batter throwing his bat after a hit. I have not seen any mention of this in the 2010 rule book or in any of the ammendments to the rules released since. I have been told by some that the batter is out and ejected anytime he/she throws the bat and there is no warning. Can anyone cladify this for me?

Thanks

Nothing has changed. You can never, NEVER call someone out for throwing a bat, by rule.

Well, not unless you clock the catcher, who in trying to make a play on the ball or throw back to him. Then you might have a case for interference. That's rare, though.

As for LL's stance, it's warn, then eject. Their unofficial stance is warn, and then give the manager the opportunity to remove the player themselves. Ejection is pretty harsh for an involuntary act, as it requires a one game suspension.
