John Kibler 1928-2010
Longtime National League umpire John Kibler has passed away. He was 81.

He was one of the nicest men in the profession.

The Times describes him as the "Umpire for Bill Buckner's Error." That's like describing Abraham Lincoln as the president after whom a car was later named.
