Just because he knows something doesn't mean I want to listen to it. Joe Morgan, prime example. Give me someone with some actual broadcasting talent behind the microphone any day of the week.

Of course he knows something about catching. But that doesn't qualify you to TV, or at least it shouldn't.

But it does qualify him to talk about catching, which was what I was pointing out to Ump 64. Just like Morgan can talk about the playing aspect of the game, yet is very ignorant when it comes to the rules or how to umpire, just like McCarver.

Perhaps, but it doesn't qualify him to broadcast on the subject. Behind the mic, he's a moron, regardless of the subject. It just seems that some folks check their brains at the door when entering the broadcast booth. He's one.
