When the minor leagues were still supplied by +POS, they wore the zip up shirts. At least the ones I saw.

Neat. Short sleeved jackets. What's next? Long sleeved cream shirts?

Oh yeah.

I think I'm going to get some base pants tailored into shorts.

Should be a good look.

As long as you wear them in combination with the long sleeve cream shirt pictured above.

Count me as one of the few, if only, umpires who thinks those half-mock-convertible-zip up-removable-sleeve-thingies are just hideous period. The short-sleeve black shirt, long-sleeve black shirt, and jackets with the stripes on the shoulder were just fine.

I wouldn't doubt it if Dick Honig convinced MLB to use these so Dick could dream up and manufacture yet another article of uniform attire that everyone will then consider a "must buy."

I agree. Those things look like warmup jackets for the players. Wear the shirts or a regular pullover. Those things are amateurish, cheap looking. But why would the MLB umpires care, they are considered the top ones regardless of what they are wearing. It is the amateurs who have to appear to be more professional looking to attempt to keep the hounds at bay.

Poll: Long sleeve shirt only behind the plate or can be worn also on the bases?

Why wouldn't you wear a long sleeved shirt on the bases? I do it, when sometimes a jacket is too much.

(and don't give that @#$% about MLB guys don't do it. Think for yourself.)

Maybe - but Majestic makes the MLB shirts & jackets.

Plate - Plate Coat or Long Sleeve Shirt - No Pullover. I hate a jacket behind the plate.

Bases - Jacket or Short Sleeve Shirt - no long sleeve. No "smock" or half-zip/convertible jacket either. Ugly!

At some point there was (maybe still is) some type of partnership between Honig's and MLB. There are two umpires I've worked with this summer who have Honig's shirts which are labeled as Honig's with the MLB Authentic tag.

Honig's Canada was the last I saw MLB logo shirts for sale to the public.

First time I saw one of these jackets was at one of my son's games. (Mens league)

I thought the base umpire was just wearing one of his regular jackets and it made him look unprofessional and sloppy. In my opinion, it went along with wearing his crotch halfway to his knees.

+POS actually made umpire shorts for a brief time. I bought a pair (eBay), and wore them once. Bad idea. I resold them the next week. At least I made money on the deal.
