Jim Wolf's Black Shirt

Watching the Phillies/Cardinals on FOX yesterday. I noticed that Jim Wolf, the PU, was wearing a really nice looking, short sleeve black uniform shirt that was different in that it featured a half-zip instead of buttons, and had no stripes on the collar or sleeves. Does anyone know who makes this shirt and more importantly, where can you get them? I think it looks really sharp, much sharper than the black with white stripes does.

Its not. Its their new pullover/smocks with the sleeves zipped off halfway.

Heres a picture of them with the sleeves not removed:

Thanks. They look pretty good tucked in and without the long sleeves. They still look hideous untucked and with long sleeves.

Not a fan of them on the plate guy without the sleeves. They look okay on the bases, sleeves or not.

I think that Wolf is the first guy I have ever seen that makes it look halfway cool. I'm with Steve on this one.

Untucked, it looks like something I wear to pitch batting practice.

The only person I have seen wear a zip up shirt is this umpire:

When the minor leagues were still supplied by +POS, they wore the zip up shirts. At least the ones I saw.

Neat. Short sleeved jackets. What's next? Long sleeved cream shirts?

Oh yeah.

I think I'm going to get some base pants tailored into shorts.

Should be a good look.

As long as you wear them in combination with the long sleeve cream shirt pictured above.

Count me as one of the few, if only, umpires who thinks those half-mock-convertible-zip up-removable-sleeve-thingies are just hideous period. The short-sleeve black shirt, long-sleeve black shirt, and jackets with the stripes on the shoulder were just fine.

I wouldn't doubt it if Dick Honig convinced MLB to use these so Dick could dream up and manufacture yet another article of uniform attire that everyone will then consider a "must buy."

+POS actually made umpire shorts for a brief time. I bought a pair (eBay), and wore them once. Bad idea. I resold them the next week. At least I made money on the deal.

I agree. Those things look like warmup jackets for the players. Wear the shirts or a regular pullover. Those things are amateurish, cheap looking. But why would the MLB umpires care, they are considered the top ones regardless of what they are wearing. It is the amateurs who have to appear to be more professional looking to attempt to keep the hounds at bay.

Poll: Long sleeve shirt only behind the plate or can be worn also on the bases?
