While I would have been ok with them getting roughed up, I do not think that homicide would have been justified.

I concur, homicide is a little over the line, but I think it would be within my right (and maybe my responsibility) to put out that fire with a firehose from 10-15 feet away.

I know that this rubs some people the wrong way but I really get pissed when I see scum like this desecrating Our Flag. Splattering a few brains might just wake up the rest of the bunch! I wouldn't consider this homicide, I would call it Flag-icide!

I come from a military family. I get pretty ticked off, as well.

However, murdering someone is actually quite a bit worse than flag burning. I hope you were joking. If we were to murder someone for flag burning, how are we any different than the lunatics who were killing people and firebombing places over Mohammed cartoons?

A little perspective is necessary...I would think a punch in the jaw for the flag burners would suffice.
