Questec v Zone Evaluation

I know this isn't fresh news, but does anybody have any specifics on the new Zone Evaluation system. All the articles I have found say pretty much the same thing.

It implies they are using cameras already installed. Would this be the PitchFx cameras or were Questec style cameras installed during the off season in the rest of the parks?

In the end will we see a convergence of the data between the system for the umpires and the system for the broadcasters, or will there still be pitches rated differently by the two systems?

I think there's some information in the 2009 MLBUM...when I have time, I'll look in there and try to post the ideas that are in there.

Questec is out. One system for umpires and broadcasters. TWBMG.
PitchFX and MLBProduction love the play by play data for internet MLB.com and MLB-TV.
Gameboy version available from Pitch FX for gamers and ESPN i-phone updates.

I hope MLB umpires find a way to thumb their nose at these cameras in the next labor agreement. I like to listen to a lot of broadcasters do games on all levels of Baseball, but for people to take an ever changing target and then pontificate on how inconsistent we are is an embarrassment to Baseball. Let the camera evaluations stay in-house on the zone with evaluators, and that goes for ESPN and their CWS and LLWS stuff too.

Just like so many other things in higher-level Baseball, let the players play the game. lf Eric Gregg (RIP) comes back from the dead to do an NLCS plate, everyone on both sides knows what his zone is. Live with it.
