Soccer shin guard. Wear it under your (long-sleeve) shirt or jacket.

Made for the job
A D3 coach in MD told me he helped design the guards in the link. I've never used them.

Right now I am not concerned about how it looks. I have even considered going back to the ole balloon. It does provide a lot more protection. It is just one of those weird things, getting hit twice in the same spot, but I went a year without getting any hits to the arms. I should get in the habit of getting my arms behind my back, but that gets uncomfortable. I may try one of those forearm protectors or a soccer shin guard under a shirt for a short while, until I heal up. Thanks!

These are the best
But you really should wear a windbreaker or a long-sleeve with this kind of thing:
![]() McDavid HexPad ForeArm Shivers-Black 651 | GoBros.com They are for football and they are excellent, and very lightweight, and unlike the soccer shins, they are designed for your forearms. I had your problem, and I wore one of these on one arm under a long-sleeve black shirt, and you couldn't tell a thing. I got nicked, not really drilled, on the same bruise, and I didn't feel it. These things are great. And if you go to that site right now, they have a lot of deals on compression wear and injury prevention stuff. Last edited by Kevin Finnerty; Mon Mar 02, 2009 at 12:38pm. |

They look worse than they are, but you use a long-sleeve or a windbreaker. They put the hexpads like those in the tights, and in all kinds of football pads and undergarments. They're amazingly light and resilient, and they are a hell of a lot more protective than those soccer shin socks.

Youth soccer shin guards fit perfect. I had your same issue a couple of years ago, so I went searching. I never bought anything, but those shinnies for the kids were a perfect fit to my forearm. Cover 'em with some sweat bands (or long sleave shirt) - and you're in bi'ness.

Just a note from the fashion police.....

Players wear wristbands...umpires do not.....Umpires should not wear wristbands unless you are on the MLB staff and are wearing the Fathers day or cancer awareness bands...... |

I meant use the wrist bands to cover the shin guard. I did not mean to use the wrist bands as an accessory. Applying the fact that injuries don't always occur during jacket or long sleeve weather and the shiny shinnies don't need to be exposed. |

Some long-sleeve shirts have the fabric that wicks, so you can even wear it in the heat and not be too bad off. If I am injured in the forearm and wear a guard (rare), I wear a long-sleeve, irrespective of the heat. I even have a cream long-sleeve.
