Exactly what I thought, too.

But, I'll bite. About 30, including playoffs and the NC/SC All-Star games. (See, I can play too!)

Numbers, numbers, numbers! We deal with them at work, at home, on the field and now on the forums! It is obvious that numbers give some people a sense of power, others a feeling of inadequacy and others seem to get an almost sexual satisfaction with them!

So to those who "get a rise" out of numbers, I will give you my tally for the season.

High School - I worked more games than I should have but not as many as I wanted to.

Summer - Not enough time to do enough games to make me sick of the heat.

Babe Ruth Regionals - Night after night under the lights, sucking wind with the dew points nearing 90° yet still keeping up with partners and players much younger than I.

Fall - all scheduled games (mine) rained out.

There - I hope I provided enough stimulus to satisfy the multitude of the masses.

106 game plus 19 rainouts (rain dates) from March 18 - August 3. Took (as I usually do) the fall off -- one "alumni" game since.

I dream of officiating like Tee: 20-or-so meaningful, fun games. Put the stuff away for 9 months.

But I'm too much of a glutton for punishment, I guess

85 baseball games, 35 varsity basketball games (the only level I work), and about 30 football games per year.

Favorite sport these days is football, followed by basketball.

Baseball - 163 so far with two more weekends to go (generally do 3 on Sat and 3 on Sun). Up about 30 games, had a lot of varsity rainouts in 2007.

Basketball - 167 to date, probably end up around 220, similar to last year.

Have to tape my address, phone number and picture of the wife & kids to the steering wheel so I don't pull into the wrong garage and sleep with the wrong woman! On second thought............

If you want to start including all sports I work, I probably do not work 100 games in all sports. I know I work less than 20 games during the football season (including playoffs) and I work only about 50-60 basketball games a year (varsity and college) and now 25 Baseball games, I really feel bad now. (NOT!!!!)

And every time I tell people I work three sports they look at me like I am the crazy one. I might work 3 sports, but I certainly do not work what I would call a lot of games. To be fair I do normally work more games during the baseball season, I just decided it was time to cut back a little. But I have not worked 100 baseball games in probably 10 years. And I also do not count basketball games during the summer because you are often working multiple games during a date and many of the games are camp related. In other words I paid to work those games and be evaluated. Those are also not "real" games by any stretch of the imagination.

Peace

Plus however many I do at the NCUS. Probably about 6.

So, about 137 for 2008. About 7 less than last year. I was trying to "take it easy" this summer, but wound up with a much bigger spring schedule than I usually do.

Post yours.
High School - 23

"Small" Diamond - 35

Babe Ruth leagues - 12

American Legion - 9

Total - 79

From April 3 to August 22
