Nope, don't mind a bit.
Oh, you wanted an ANSWER.  A "Sharpie" is a brand of felt-tip pen that marks on just about anything and dries quickly. (Often used by autograph collectors for those very reasons.) Silver, just because helmets all seem to be blue or black and the silver color would show up better.
