I own both

as well and prefer the GD's.

They are light in warmer days, easy to care for and I prefer the darker coloration. They also have a hidden expanding waistband which aids in fit if that's important to you.

FWIW.

You can get base pants directly from Fetchheimer as they are standard uniform pants. Plate pants are another story. They have limited runs. I found this out as no one around here carries Fetchheimer any longer. They all went to Dalco and I cannot stand those pants.

I prefer the GD also but I am not allowed to wear them during HS season per State of CT mandate (only heather gray is allowed).

Check Lester's Upstate Sports for Fechheimer pants

We have a uniform supply company in SLC that can order the Fechheimers in both plate and base versions.

I bought two new pair last year and I still haven't had to iron them. The are creased perfectly.

Most has already been stated before but my dos pesos...the GD are not the best looking pants but the fit and waist band are a benefit as is the fact they are wash and wear. In certain NCAA associations (Big West, WCC, WAC) Honigs premium are the standard. The drape and heaviness of the Honigs makes them prefered. In conclusion...when there is no standard, I wear the GD...when there is a standard, I wear the Honigs.
