This ever happen to you?

The new vent-a-pants. You can even poke a hole in your underwear to catch some extra breeze. It must be even cooler if you don't wear a hat.

This is why one always wears heather gray compression shorts under one's plate pants. By the way, did anyone notice the PU was not wearing a hat either.

He may be holding it in front of himself depending on how far that tear extends up the front of his pants.

Yes, Steven, it has. I rottted out a pair of PU pants from salty sweat, slowly let loose the threading. Standing upright, there was nothing to report. Squatting was another matter.

Considering that you are on your third name change, without any succcess in disguising yourself, what I find disgusting and laughable is your picking on other umpires while hiding behind a very thin, but insulating in your mind, veil of anonymity. Did you beat up the cheerleaders at school then call the same a sexual conquest?

I'm sure its easy to sit here in my chair and nit pick this picture like I am perfect, but my goodness, no shin guards?!?! Those kids look older than 7, so that scares me a little. But wait a minute.... those pants are very tight, and if he were to put shin guards on..... his pants might.... oooooooo, i see why they ripped.

Interested Ump:

If you rotted out a pair of PU pants, then you definitely were not taking good care of your pants and were wearing a pair that should have been replaced a long time before they split on you. Sorry, but you lose on this one.

Sure would have been nice to be able to afford to replace those PU pants. It was either replace or not feed the kids.

What did I lose?

If your plate pants were rotting out because they were salty and sweaty that means you weren't washing your plate pants on a regular basis, meaning you were not maintaining your equipment properly. That means if you were umpiring with me and were wearing a pair of salty, sweaty, rotted out pair of plate pants I would make sure that I would be standing up wind from you at all times. There no excuse for not keeping your gear in good repair. Sorry you still don't have a winner.

If the choice is replace the pants or feed the kids you need to give up umpiring and get a real job, and/or real second job.

Sorry, gotta go with Tyler on this one. Funny as hell, this joke of an umpire. Even without the split pants there is plenty to find fault with. I certainly hope nobody on this forum represents themselves like this on a ball field.

I had a pair do exactly that in a LL Major Championship game. I had only had the pants for one season. Just as this guy did, I just kept umping. Also blew a zipper out while rushing to get to a base assignment after being stuck in traffic. Shtuff happens. I learned to carry 2 pair of each in the car now to ALL games. We can poke fun at the guy but I'd rather buy him a beer for being out there and not quitting when alot of people would.

It's so kewl to make fun of those guys who for w/e reason call ball in less than presentable wear. Of course, he's the same guy who allos those games to be played umps being a scarcity in most places. Wonder why that is considering you publicly make fun of your bretheren.

Maybe it's the fact that he is there and forces the demand-supply curve so that you can't charge $200 per game that drives you to make fun.

I think it's the same cruel streak that causes you and yours to attack young umpires like Canadaump who, for God Knows What reason see no reason to homage the Old Guard here.

Yeah, he's got a split in his pants, no hat and prolly no mechanics. He called a pitiful game. People laughed at him like you are dong now.

The kids played.
