Similar but different...
R1, hard grounder to 1st (easy DP ball). F3 fields, R1 retreats to 1st and gets to bag before fielder can tag him or the bag. a) F3 steps on bag, then tags runner. (obviously 1 out, R1 remains) b) F3 tags runner who is on base, then steps on base (2 out correct? R1 forced to advance and is not protected by the base?). Seems clear but I just wanted clarification.
