I haven't see it, but it sounds like; F5 had already fielded the ball and was making a play on R2. As you all well know, crashing a fielder waiting to make a tag on you is highly recommended and encouraged at the major league level.

Haven't seen it yet?

I attached the video to my OP. I had trouble with it but I was hoping others would not. Oh well.

Very interesting play and a very good training video for OBR/FED differences.
Absent interference, in FED rules, there would have been an out.

I was watching at the time of the play. Bautista fielded the slow grounder. His glove was still down near the ground when Larry the Leaper hurdled/crashed into him. Bautista did not move into Jones, as Jones has said. That is BS (see the meter). The Chipperoo landed on his face/elbow/shoulder on the other side of Bautista, who had no chance to tag Jones. He was too busy getting flattened from above, and by the time he recovered, Jones had gotten his meathook on the base.

Seems to me like the "play" should have been tagging Chipper.

Fielder has ball, Chipper runs into him, fielder misses tag, THEN tries for first.

Sounds OK to me.
But even if he has missed a tag, he still has the right to try and make a throw towards first. Thus it looked like the interference should have been called because a chance to get the runner at first base still existed.
