I never declined an offer to come watch me work. I had no games to watch when the offers were made. I've never lacked intestinal fortitude in my life. You want to find out, stop singing it and bring it.

There's something that I agree with. Imo, that describes both SDS and rei perfectly. I never have had a problem with the knowledge and officiating ability of either. Their attitude is a different matter.

They both have exactly the same attitude.... "I'm a great umpire and you're not". They're both a legend in their own minds, and they love to remind other people of that.

Rei is a good umpire with excellent experience and credentials.
He's been there, done that, still doing that.

I don't know why this offends you.
None of what you you wrote above offends me. Never has, never will. Your buddy's attitude offends me. It's no different than SDS's attitude offending you. SDS and rei were separated at birth imo; they're two of a kind. Your buddy, rei, taking unsolicited shots at BktBallRef above is completely typical of what I've seen coming from him since he's been here. If he's gonna do that, nobody- including you- should get defensive if somebody takes an unsolicited shot right back at him.

That's where I'm coming from, Garth. Your buddy might be the greatest umpire ever, but he's still a jerk imo.

And yes, I've been called the same name-- quite appropriately and deservedly at times also. The difference is that I've never posted my resume as proof that I was right on something.
