I understand that. It's just sort of redundant to prove your point over and over. You'll never convince the other side, and even if you did I doubt that they would admitt it.

I wasn't trying to convince anyone, Tim. Simply put, we see stories trotted out that depict amateur umpires as inept and this one was different. It will certainly make Yeast's NCAA video series as an example of a Division 1 crew doing the job correctly. We've read enough about how no one can possibly handle the timing of MiLB ball except those who wear the AMLU brand. This play is a terrific example of lightning fast replay and steadfast amateur umpire talent.

If you notice, the PU didn't make an issue out of the charade. He simply made his call and prompted the catcher to finish his at bat. Go back and watch the video and note the umpire's reaction to the pitch. Newbies should recognize that if he had flinched or assumed based on the body language of the pitcher or batter, he could have 'sold' the call as HBP.

With this behavior, it would appear that Walker has a promising career as a coach after his playing days.

His elbow hurts so bad he was barely able to gently set his helmet and bat down in the dugout.

If you turn the volume up and listen very carefully (and watch as well), as soon as Walker begins the acting job, the PU points right back to the batter's box and you can faintly hear the PU say..."No, No, No..." or something to that effect....

Ah, my alma mater . . .

Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo PIG! Sooie!

Mr. Walker did not behave himself with the proper decorum.

Had that been Alabama or LSU's catcher, I would have run him, the coach AND the mascot. Just for good measure.

Strikes and outs!
