If the player is tagged with the glove, the ball must be in the glove. If not, runner is safe if she gets on base before she is tagged the correct way. Also, the fielder could tag her with her bare (ungloved hand) with the ball in it. Either way you look at it, the ball must be in the hand the tag is made with.
