Perhaps you didn't read the entire thread?

Are you saying that back row setters jump with their head above the top of the net with their arms down in an effort to save an overpass? Really? All the time? This is something that I have never seen. I've certainly not worked as many matches as some here, but have worked quite a few in the past 15-20 years.

Let it go man, it happens...mostly in mens, on occasion. Why do you care. You know the rule, enforce it when you see it.

Post edited. I agree with you. Time to drop it.

I still don't agree that this ever happens...(OK, now I'll move on).

This. And then they realize they can't get to it, so they bring their hands down. It's not that difficult a concept.

Reading is a skill. I never said they jumped with their head over the net and their arms down. I said their head could still be over the net once they bring their arms/hands down, which if there's contact, would still make them a blocker.

I'm done with this thread. Time to move on.

The situation FMadera is describing is no where near as uncommon as you think it is. I too have had it in multiple matches I've refereed (men's), and I've had it called on me as a player in college.

I remember because my teammates and I laughed about just blocking with my head considering the ball went back over and landed on the other side's floor.
