Unnecessary Delay Following Sets
NFHS Rules
Following the first, second, third, and fourth sets, Team A fails to take the court until 3 minutes 15 seconds have elapsed, despite the R2's attempts at preventative officiating. Unnecessary delay is assessed (administrative yellow card) on each occasion. Team A commits no subsequent unnecessary delay in any set. As such, is there no tangible penalty... just repeated administrative yellow cards? Would you consider unsporting conduct instead? |

There's a note at the end of 9-9
NOTE:*For repeated unnecessary delay violations in multiple sets, unsporting conduct may be issued by the first referee. I guess the follow up question should be, do you do this after the 2nd delay, 3rd, 4th? |
