To me, if I see it clearly and quickly - I have no problem and I’m not looking to make one. If not - then I reach for the “contrast” bit.
I personally seem to have less of an issue with single colored uniforms than with multicolored ones where colors fade etc. and the lib jersey is the same design, but with some colors flipped.

Ignore the libero, look at the blue shirts. Light blue predominant color, dark blue numbers.
