Passing of Xtremeump

It is with great regret that I mention the passing of Chuck Campney, aka Xtremeump. Chuck was a year-round official, working softball, baseball, basketball and football. He made officiating his life in recent years. He was a great contributor to NYSSO and I was glad to have him on my staff these last couple of years. Most importantly, he was an American hero, who literally served in hand-to-hand combat in Kuwait during Desert Storm. No one could ever have your back any better than Chuck. I'm pleased to have had the opportunity to spend this weekend with him at the state high school finals. The officiating world lost a good one this week.

It's always tough to lose someone close, be it a relative, friend, or colleague. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go to his loved ones. Rest in peace, fellow Blue.
