...Actually, I'm glad to be given the responsibility.

Thanks to my reading this forum religiously for the past 10 years, I have the reputation of being a rules hound in my association. My favorite part of tournaments has always been discussing game situations with my colleagues.

At our meeting this weekend, I made myself available to discuss via email any rules interp questions one might have. I was surprised by the positive response I received, as previous UICs have never offered this.

Of course, I intend to back up my answers with citations when I respond, BUT, I also fully expect to be posting here, quite often, to get the "official" ruling from those whose opinions I respect most.

But again, I do promise to check the book first.
