Good points, CecilOne.
On (1), I didn't think it was a smart place for him to put his foot, either. Actually, F4 set up there to make the catch but moved his foot a bit (farther from the bag) to make the throw. F4 was a talented, experienced player, though. This was no picnic game. On (2), you know as well as I that plays at 2B are best viewed from the outfield, or from the back row of the bleachers. On (3), by saying what he did, F4 admitted that my call was at least technically correct. Of all the moaners, F4 actually complained the least.

The only reason they objected to the safe call is because they see it called an out on Sportscenter every evening by MLB umps. They also see managers and players charging umps, throwing fits, and getting away with it. That's why they think they have the right to "go off" on the blues during a softball game.
