The youngest tournament games I've seen are 8U.
I worked one day of them a while ago.
Some of my friends love them.
Games pay the same and are shorter,They feel it's like taking candy from a baby.

Personally, economics aside, I didn't enjoy the experience.
Oh - and if I remember right, a coach actually got ejected..... I couldn't believe it.
Then I started realizing that it is the coaches and parents of the younger teams that are the worst.

The economics ARE generally better ... but:

THAT is the reason behind the "No, Never" from me. I've been pressed into service for 6U and 8U tourneys, and while the games are generally shorter and the pay better, the parents are unbearable, and the coaches a mixed bag. Then there's the invented Calvinball rules at these ages that differ from place to place... and the invariable "halfway hash" and the insanity that ensues on every single close "halfway there" call.

Yuck. No. Just no.

Exactly my point when I said:

Maybe they will get it out of their systems now so when they get to 10u and 12u they will know how to behave.....
