If I remember correctly, 10.10.5 was written because the NCAA coaches, in their infinite wisdom, felt that a slapper who has run out of the front of the box should not benefit from being hit by a pitch while she was not in the batter's box.
Since that is the "intent" of that rule, I don't think anybody is going to have a problem with awarding a batter first base on the pitch in the OP.
