Simple trigonometry. For a right-angle triangle:
c^2 = a^2 + b^2 (where c is the hypotenuse and a & b are the other two sides)

For a ball diamond, c = distance to 2B, and a = b = base distance.

So c = SQRT(70^2 + 70^2)

No need for the rule book.
