Why so slow to show the calls? Baylor/Missouri

A few years ago, some on the staff asked us to try to avoid too much of a delay between the verbal and the signal. Not so much for the spectators, but the coaches. It can be hard for them to hear also, and some would start complaining before they found out they didn't have to. I haven't heard much about it since.
