Wow! Katy has grown! One day, it might actually make *gasp* city status. Actually, it has been a while since I have been in the Houston area, but I remember Katy as just a small little burg, even when compared to the micropolis of Sherman.

Well this topic went off the rails. Wonder where they got that number - there's no official 2005 number, and that number's higher than the 2000 census.

Katy, Texas is located on Interstate Highway 10 and U.S. Highway 90 at the intersection of Harris, Fort Bend and Waller counties. The city has a total area of 27.6 km˛ (10.7 mi˛). As of the 2000 U.S. Census, the city had a total population of 11,775. Experts in the area have the 2005 estimated population calculated at over 80,000 within a 3 mile radius and approximately 134,000 within a 5 mile radius. Projections for the next 5 years estimate the population to be over 100,000 within a 3 mile radius and approximately 170,000 within a 5 mile radius.

The line has moved significantly since 2000.

In today's political climate, at times it feels as if it might be now!

Actually, My LaGrange has been here a while. Atlanta is a suburb
