The parents allowed these kids to play where they were at risk of being struck by lightning. God had nothing to do with that. The only reason that it struck in a "child's play area" that day is because children were playing there when lightning struck. The parents didn't take them home when they should have.

If the parents would have taken them home instead of letting them play in a lightning storm then there would be no need to be concerned about where lightning struck.

Thank you. I wonder if charges against the parents would be filed if a child was struck by lightning walking from his school bus up the path to his front door.

And now, God has nothing to do with lightning?!?! Wow, an agnostic that believes in Mother Nature. Next thing you know, evolution will be the ONLY option taught in our schools, assuming anything is allowed to be taught.

It is a legal definition matter as to whether CRIMINAL neglect was committed, but even if this passes the legal definition, I can't imagine any prosecutor actually filing charges.

Clearly, simple neglect was involved (as well as simple foolishness).
