3 man mechanic

Is there a difference in NCAA? Georgia/Washington game today. 1B umpire made call at second on BR going for a double. 3B umpire stayed at 3rd. No runners were on base at time of hit. 3B umpire did not go out on hit.

Without having seen the play, I'm assuming it was a ball hit to the outfield...

What I was taught at the ASA NUS this year was that if neither of the BUs go out for the catch, 3BU should have come inside the diamond to 2B on a fly ball to the outfield.

I haven't decided if I should call it from the dugout or the outfield. Apparently, both have really great views!

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

Sounds like U3 had a brain freeze or something was up of which we are not aware. Maybe U3 was injured earlier and cannot move that well.

I think the play your talking about was a shot into left field and U3 turned and looked ... didnt have time to go all the way out so it may have looked as if u3 didnt go but infact u3 turned and looked for fair foul. i may be wrong but Im pretty sure I know the play your talking about
