curious

in south cackilacky weekend asa tourneys, batters start with a 1&1 count and get an extra foul; depending on the level of play they might not get any home-runs (which would end the inning) or up to 3 or 4
just curious how this varies around the states

Ive never heard of FP starting at 1/1 - do they have that?

As to the OP - we have two beer league ..both do the 1/1, one allows the extra foul, the other doesnt. Both use the mat for strikes.

We have done this in Kansas City with a college exposure tournament put on by Mary Nutter with National Sports Clinics. Received a lot of + feedback from the college coaches. They said they liked being able to evaluate a lot batters in a shorter amount of time.

We all noticed more batters were hitting the first pitch more so they would not be behind in the count 1-2.

Yeah, but they probably do know how to conjugate the verb "swing."

That's a different kind of "swing" in Amsterdam, Tom.

I haven't decided if I should call it from the dugout or the outfield. Apparently, both have really great views!

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.
