Glad to see the crash interference issue failing.

The cracks in the bat is obviously a direct shot at the Stealths and the issues with it at nationals.

Thank you for taking the time to keep us updated mike, it is appreciated.
What happened with the Stealths?

I haven't decided if I should call it from the dugout or the outfield. Apparently, both have really great views!

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

This was pretty much the scene at many nationals, confiscated stealths

Point A, there are no rule changes which address the "Stealth Issues".

Point B, this isn't even close to the change of the BB changing to 4'.

Thanks

My bad, I thought the cracked bat deal had to do with the bats pulled at Nats... since hairline cracks were a main cause of them being pulled.

Hundreds and hundreds of bats at the cost of tens of thousands of dollars..

And ASA didnt even discuss it?

But they saw fit to talk about a slow pitch mat and coaches dress code?

Some times I dont understand ASA.

It is a collection of individuals, including many players, etc., each of whom has his own agenda, bug up his butt, special interest he'd like to discuss, etc... Not too surprising that a lot of BS and triviality gets mixed in with (and sometimes to the exclusion of) the important stuff.

Wade, the problem is that you focused on the wrong point. The fact is, visible cracks have ALWAYS rendered a bat illegal. The rule change that was proposed was to make any dent render a bat illegal, too.

As it stands, most umpires understand that a dent which still passes through the bat ring makes a bat still legal for play. The change would make any variation in the bat illegal, and that addresses metal bats, not the composites.

I don't see what it is that you wanted ASA to address. Did you want them to make cracked bats legal for play? Or just cracked Stealth bats?

The controversy I had thought was being addressed was regarding whether or not the stealths were in fact illegal or it was designed and approved to be that way by ASA. (hairline cracks and the wiggle was actually break in, etc etc) I wasnt there and I was incorrect in that. No big deal. I did not advocate any change in rules over bats. Personally, I would put at least 2 of the stealths on the banned bat list, but that is not a rule change.

The ONLY rule change I advocated was allowing metal cleats.

Oops, I also advocated the ball on the batter instead of IP for 20 sec rule violation.
