With no one on, if the batter is LH, I will stay on the foul side of the 1B foul line. It might not be correct, but I can see almost everything in front of me. If the BR advances past 1B, I will be busting butt to get to second.
If I have runners on, or the batter is RH, I will exit to the left and go up the 3B foul line as far as I need to in order to see around all the bodies in front of the circle. This will also get me closer to a second play at 2B or 3B. If it is a squeeze, I am pretty much staying in the holding zone so I can get back to make the call at the plate. Quote:
EVERY league game is one umpire. The Women's 23U league we assign is one umpire. Very low key, but we need a second umpire on those games.
