[ASA Co-ed SP] Walk question

Is it an ASA Rule or a local rule that if a male batter draws a walk with 2 outs, the next female batter also walks? I'm trying to figure out this rule for future reference.

We had a bye week last week and we could only manage 5 runs this week. No AA moments this week, but our umpire seemed to like calling his strikes by pointing at the plate as he verbalized "strike".

Never a dull moment when it comes to SP.

Local

It sounds like a local rule. I do SP and there are ex college players who would be appalled at having to take a walk....

I've heard of that rule, but I don't know if it's local or codified. I haven't been involved in a slow pitch game in forever.

They dont "have" to walk in my area.

Its optional.

The coed league I play in has the same rule. The intent is so you dont walk the dudes just to pitch to the wimmins.

Wade's correct. The woman has the option of also walking, but in most rec leagues, the woman will take the walk about 90% of the time.

Rule 8-1-C-4 Exception (ASA)

As previously stated, the female batter has the option to walk or bat.
