[ASA Co-ed SP] Walk question Is it an ASA Rule or a local rule that if a male batter draws a walk with 2 outs, the next female batter also walks? I'm trying to figure out this rule for future reference. We had a bye week last week and we could only manage 5 runs this week. :( No AA moments this week, but our umpire seemed to like calling his strikes by pointing at the plate as he verbalized "strike". Never a dull moment when it comes to SP. ;) |

Local It sounds like a local rule. I do SP and there are ex college players who would be appalled at having to take a walk.... |

I've heard of that rule, but I don't know if it's local or codified. I haven't been involved in a slow pitch game in forever. |

Its optional. The coed league I play in has the same rule. The intent is so you dont walk the dudes just to pitch to the wimmins. |

Rule 8-1-C-4 Exception (ASA) As previously stated, the female batter has the option to walk or bat. |
