Modified - Plate Mechanics
Going to do Modified tourney this weekend, all 5 teams!
Wondering as I have'nt really done Mod before, what stance do you take behind the Plate. Same Slot I presume, but do you stand upright, or bend slightly etc ....

Assuming you mean the same "Modified" as in ASA, you do everything the same as Fastpitch. The only significant difference between Modified and Fastpitch is that the pitcher has restrictions to make the game more offensive in nature.

Dave I haven't decided if I should call it from the dugout or the outfield. Apparently, both have really great views! Screw green, it ain't easy being blue! I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again. |

Is this 9 man or 10 man Modified? Pitching rules are very different. 9 man is much less restrictive than 10 man. Check the ASA book. As for your stance everything is the same as FP. Work the slot! Strike zone is arm pit to knees and as wide as you make it. I go outside some but not to far inside. Hope this helps.
