Chin strap question
I was PU for a few rec league games recently. Chin straps are a requirement. I noticed that some of the chin straps looked like they were designed to be placed at the bottom of the chin rather than under and behind the chin. I had never seen this type of chin strap before and I got a little nervous about them. I wasn’t sure they would stay in place. These were 10U girls and on some the chin straps are already a bit loose. I asked the players who had them to put them under and behind the chin. Neither the players nor any coaches complained. Even though I may have been a bit anal about this I thought it better to err on the side of safety or at least what I thought was safe. Comments on this type of chin strap? (I already know that I can be anal at times.)

![]() The rules don't say anything about type, kind, design, or effectiveness of the strap; only that there has to be one and that it be worn properly. (ASA 3-5-E) Anything else is between the player and her coach and parents.
