My first marathon of the year.

I worked six games yesterday. Three FP games in a high school tournament (JV, one man) in the afternoon, then three more (mens slow pitch league - two man) last night.

The final tally: Two cities, two completely different uniforms (including shorts for the nightcap), three run-rule games, two foul tips off the forearm, one 45 year old catcher questioning my strike zone, one illegal bat discovered...and $257.

The legs are real tired, but overall I'm suprisingly not very sore.

Sorry, not foul tips. I was obviously typing faster than I was thinking. Two foul balls off the forearm.

Better?

Fruits & nuts Cecil.

Stu said "...(including shorts for the nightcap), ..."

With temps in the low 40's & upper 30's today, I was just glad to be on the field - even with 25 different layers on. You know what you can do with your shorts, right?

Think about it like this: There's one teacher in a normal classroom, but go to a special ed room and you'll find a teacher and at least one instructional assistant.

It's a very comfortable 68 degrees right now...but it did get cold last night - upper 50s - so i put on a jacket for the 8:40 game.

Ya knwo, I went over to Europe to umpire this past January - single digits & minus single digits here but 45-55 over there - and it was about the same lattitude. Yeah, there's some envy towards some of you folks that get to work year round and no, I don't like the really cold stuff - but y'all have some weather & geographic issues that I just don't want to deal with.
