Illegal Pitch discussion

ok saw a discussion about IP on another board got me thinking about discussions over IP's. I have always felt that there are only 2 types of pitches, legal and illegal. if illegal I had better have an explaination of what was done illegally. BUT this discussion was about classifying pitches as a crow hop, leap, replant.....my stance is who cares. It is illegal because "this" was done incorrectly and that is how I leave it.

So I ask you all what do you do when you are explaining an IP to a coach or player? Do you try to clasify it into a crow hop, replant, leap....or do you just state what they did to make it illegal?

If questioned, I'll give a 2-5 word description of what the violation was.

Dunno about Steve, but that is pretty much the common approach I believe. It is what I do as well, and haven't heard that from a clinic.

If I didn't I certainly should have, but the first time was on the field and spoken by a guy who passed on a year or so ago.
I know - you've said that & I've said that & others have said that - we just have to get some more folks to actually listen and apply.
