Why mess around, Dag? Do what some of the guys I played with 30 years ago have done: pay a machine shop to load and repaint their legal bat. This way, without steroids or even workouts, you can go from hitting the ball short of the warning track at age 30 to hitting the ball over the infield on the next field at age 60. It's gotta feel good for a guy who hit zero balls over the fence between age 25 and age 35 to hit 5 in one game for his grandchildren to see.

Such bats abound around here, and to my knowledge not a single one has ever been taken out of a game or even been inspected by the umpire.
