Unhappy Umpire passing

Today we lost one of ours. Butch Hebert passed away this evening. Butch lived in Lafayette, La and was an outstanding umpire. He was always warm, sunny and willing to help anyone whether they asked or not. Please take a moment and remember Butch and his family in your prayers.

We lost one of ours a few years ago. Our state association wouldn't let us wear a patch to remember him so several of our umpires went to a sewing store and bought a white clothing marker and neatly put the initials DO (Dennis Osborne) on the back of our hats to honor our friend.

"A-Bear" called many games when my DD's team played travel ball in Lafayette a decade ago. Good man, good umpire. RIP.

Very sorry to hear about Butch. He was an outstanding individual as well
as umpire.

My prayers are with the family.

Gene had e-mailed me about Butch earlier.
