Yes, it is legal to do that since the DP was the person who pitched last. It would not have been legal had the DEFO re-entered and batted for the DP(DP pitched last time in the field), because a team can only use a courtesy runner for the pitcher or catcher who fielded that position in the last inning. That's a twist on the DP/DEFO that we hadn't discussed. I see where y'all had a tournament recently - we've still got inches of snow here and it was close to 40 today. Oh well, got my first meeting for Fed ball in a couple of weeks and should start working out with the local college team a week after that (they ended up 4th in the WCWS last year & only lost 2 players).
